Centurion mods 1964?

Barry Diwell has come across an article in the Age from July 1964. Under a heading "Centurion Tank needs Changes", it refers to the Squadron operating in Tin Can Bay during Ex CRUSADER etc and says that: "Major R. E. Bird will recommend mofications to enable his tanks to fight more efficiently in jungle".

Does anyone know what these mods were?
