Dear all,

I'm in the process of revising my draft chapters and incoporating all the input I've received.

If anyone has any questions related to any aspect of 1st Armd Regt in Vietnam, I'd be happy to check my draft and try and answer them.

I'm 95% sure that I've got everyting covered (and am working on the remaining 5%). I'd be happy to be put to the test to ensure that I've not overlooked anything...

Q1. Is it a semi-indirect or indirect shoot? (Seems to me that although the cc can see the target, he can't adjust fire and therefore it's indirect...but I'm prepared to be corrected.)

Turkey has completed an upgrade of its 171 German Leopard 1 tanks. The major part of the upgrade is a modern fire control system. The 1960s era, 43 ton, Leopard 1 has a 105mm gun, and a top speed of 65 kilometers an hour. Turkey is also upgrading 160 similar U.S. made M-60A1 tanks.

Until the 1980s, the Leopard I was considered one of the best tanks available. Entering service in the late 1960s, it was the first post-World War II German tank design. Although a contemporary of the American M-60A3, ...

I know that the SSM was the only WO2 on the tank sqn estb and that the DVA Nominal Roll has him as a sgt. I also know that the Nominal Roll has many errors in it. Is it possible that he was promoted for the LO position at Duc Thanh?

IEDs are more effective in Afghanistan because most of the roads are unpaved, and, compared to Iraq, there are fewer roads. As a wheeled vehicle, the Stryker is less able to ...

Hi Bruce

From this site: http://www.ukarms.com/news/m1919.htm

"The post-war designations for these weapons was L3, and they were used by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to designate the fixed (A1) and flexible (A2) versions of the M1919A4 in .30-06 caliber. L3A3 and L3A4 denoted sear hold-open conversion of previous L3A1s and L3A2s. The A3 is the modified version of the A1, and the A4 is the modified version of the A2."
