At present I do not believe the Assn is in any way healthy enough to even consider that proposal.

In looking at the idea of national incorporation, I would argue that the short answer is no.

My argument is based on the following:

I must ask how we have arrived at the point where this association could cease to exist.

We did not just wake up one morning and find that all our members were silent.

There must have been some warning signs.

It reminds me of the old adage;

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.

For want of a shoe the horse was lost.

For want of a horse the rider was lost.

For want of a rider the battle was lost.

For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.

Okay gents...Stand easy...Listen in...

I'm in for surgery tomorrow and wanted to get this brifeing note out to you all for consideration and comment.

I'm sorry about the length of this post (1600 words), but the issues considered therein, were in my opinion, too important to skimp on the contentions.

I spoke with John Coe at length on Friday morning – for almost one hour. We discussed a range of issues he sent to me in some private emails.

I now wish to address some of ...

Your input is required!!!!

This post was penned (or typed for the more pedantic) prior to the association website being shut down but is still relevant.

As you may have read or heard the association has arrived at a crossroads and we as its drivers need to know should we turn left or turn right or go straight ahead, so we are seeking ideas from all members and interested parties.

On our main website page you will have seen:

Our Aim

Our aim is to foster the goodwill and camaraderie ...

God, stuff a stoker!!!!!!

Is this it?? Out of all the current members (approx 29 )and former members who resigned this year - we get 3 or 4 people committed to fighting for the Assn's life? Come on!!!

I think its time to put up some sobering and thought provoking-points; my own opinion of course.

Seems to me even at this early stage, some are still coming to terms with the sudden change in circumstances and I understand competely. But, if this situation has everyone wallowing ...

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL MEMBERS

As with all groups’ interpersonal differences and rivalries can have a devastating effect on the day to day running of an organisation and as a direct result of this it is with sadness and regret that I notify all members of the resignations of our President Bill Kearney and our RSM Leslie Riley from the management committee along with Rick Gross our Vice President from 2008.

Rodger Henry our IT Manager has also decided to step down from both the committee ...
