Re: AFV Crewman Badge ?
Bruce & Roger,
Spoke to Neville the other day and apparently what happened at the RAAC conference has taken the wind out of his sail for awhile. Below is his reply.
Trevor,
G'day,
Thank you for your last. All is well with me and mine, it's just that I have lost interest in matters Armour for various reasons. One, is the proposal I put forward for an AFV crewman's badge which was knocked on the head. Of course, what I suggest doesn't have to be taken up by anyone-it's just that the reasons for the rejection seemed, to me, to be a little spurious. I think that the IDTOITFSOING syndrome comes into play, that is 'I Didn't Think Of It First So It's No Good.' Perhaps had I been one of the powerbrokers, so to speak, it might have gone further...but, so it goes.
There are other reasons, but I won't bore you with them. Thanks for the email,
Regards,
Nev

AFV BADGES
The badges in question are of a WW2 era AFV on a tan coloured background.
They have not been approved at Corp Level (my guess is they never will be).
They are available from the RAAC/A (NSW) secretary Capt Mike Phillips. They cost $20 each. I have 3 in my possesion. Might be a collector's item one day !
Cheers to all Rodger Tocock

AFV Crewman Badge ?
I understand Neville Modystack has proposed the introduction of an AFV Crewman Badge and that it is, at least for the moment, a dead issue at Head of Corps level. Does anyone know what Neville had in mind?
