Just yesterday after having much and many hassles with my ISP they have finally updated my modem which now allows me to operate as normal.

One would think and assume that each time they update the satellite they would update all equipment in use ie modems.

Over the last few weeks i couldn't send or receive some e-mails, download files or upload into my site manager because the modem dropped out from the server.

With that, maybe some of you others that are on satellite may be having the same problems.

Satellite Communications

Trevor, Why don't you sign up for LEASAT 5 the USN satellite nearly abandoned 10 plus years ago above the Indian Ocean and seeing good old moneybags Oz are the only ones to sign up to one of the six WSSP broadband replacement satellites maybe they'll transfer your membership for free and soonest access to the MEAO imagery before being downloaded ContOz by the ADF and RAN in particular who recycled the old bird for all these years. Reckon you could still control a HUAV from Creech AFB USA where the joint UK USA operates under wartime conditions qualified pilot wearing a flying suit and SENSO per command module.

In my little reinterant I'm surrounded by dozens of those SingTel Optus AusStar Galaxy 80 cm types mostly pointing Northish that give excellent lightning storm warning for half a HF skip zone. The Armenian born resident to my immediate North has 3/4 Galaxy and at least one Al Jazeera 2.4 metre pointing West. There are sixish of these 2.4metres within my 802.11 wireless router range including 2 to my immediate East owned by hijab wearing residents who cunningly enrolled at my old religious high to scout out the military families and their relatives.

You want my profressional opinion as a qualified Radio Mechanic get close enough to a fibre optic cable (1 to 4 Km) or Telstra NextG tower to access the Internet from. I remain unconvinced the Fibre to The Building Broadband Network will be economocally viable outside subsidised Tas and maybe certain parts of NT and SA. 240 v AC single phase street cable Internet works well in less populated areas like hilly South Korea outside Seoul and just outside Canberra. Drawbacks in non ADSL router prices and return to base alarm configurations.

Had my own recent ADSL and NextG Internet difficuties. Another location move pending within 2 weeks to a month hopefully guarantee Telstra NextG USB Notebook broadband wireless serviceability.
